We’ll be heading to the crowd-favorite Road America for the third race of the season. Target lap time is 2:22.5. We’ve still got a few spots left on the grid and it’s early in the season so if you want to join us we’d love to have you. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , anything else just ask.
Because another racer asked about this last round I’d like to clarify that you build your car to the target lap time in hot lap mode, not in your own online lobby; because of this lap times on race day will usually be faster than the target time I post thanks to drafting and Fourza’s weird online settings and the like. That being said, no one ends up disadvantaged using this system because all our cars are built to identical lap times in hot lap mode and are equally affected by the race day lobby’s settings. You’ll still be running with the pack, we’ll all just be a bit quicker than we were in practice.

I’ll just leave this here..
I really like Road America so I’m looking forward to this one, ran the time at A570, and I’ll be traveling for the rest of the week, so there will likely be no more practice for me.

Figure if you’re at 570 you don’t really need any more practice anyways lol. Also just out of curiosity, is your M3 running race weight reduction? I messed up on the sign-up post so I had to change the M3’s required upgrades like a week before the season started and one of the big differences was sport to race weight reduction, not sure if people saw the change before building their cars. If you didn’t, forget I mentioned this, both iterations lap the same times at A600 so it’s not a big deal.

Also do you mind if I use that pic as the lede image on a future repost?

Figured it needed to be made for the newbies and potential racers out there, still like 6 or 7 people that’ve been added to the club that haven’t shown up for a single race yet. Hell, it’s probably more than that with your series too...

hm, no I think I’m running the original setup, I think it included some engine upgrades instead of the race weight reduction? I can play around with the new setup for the next round because I think I’ll be away the weekend of the 22nd anyway, so it’ll be a month between races for me (missing le mans kinda sucks).
Also yeah go ahead and use the pic for whatever, the original larger version is
here.

Yeah that’s the first setup, updated setting have a completely stock engine. Sorry you’re missing Le Mans, last year it was a really good race. Robo’s sportscar series is still going strong if you want to join, we had a great time last weekend at Maple Valley.
And thanks for the pic too, last couple series I’ve used real-life pictures in the ledes but I’d like to start featuring other racers’ cars to show off some of the liveries and paint we’ve made.

Probably won’t be there for this one either. Oh well. I’m not competetive to start with.

thanks for the clarification as the last several races I had been backing off my setup probably a bit too much just so I didn’t break the time online even if it meant not achieving that time in hot lap
which ultimately always kept me near the back of the pack

more importantly, why is the one spectator in your lede picture sitting halfway off of his seat and in the grass?

BECAUSE THE RACING’S SO GOOD HE’S ON THE EDGE OF HIS SEAT

.That explains it but yeah, it seems to work out pretty well if everyone uses hot lap.

You’re lucky both my phone and computer are completely borked otherwise i’d be dropping mad gifs right now. Guess i’ll have to settle with kicking your ass on race day... again.

For some reason we can’t send you an invite. Like, the option is greyed out on the menu. Can you join-in-progress.

I just realized, I should probably start reposting a link to the livestream every time the “last call” post is made before the race.

Might as well, should get some more viewers besides you and Corey. Speaking of which, I have no idea how to score this last round: Corey was dropped when he was in 7th place, but that meant that Rob was in 7th place when
he
got dropped. I was thinking I should give both of them and Cherry Man (who actually finished 7th) all 10pts but figured I might as well get a second opinion.

I say give it to them. That’s where they were when they got dropped, and getting dropped is bullshit.
*sigh* I really hope this stops soon, or when we eventually move to Xbone.

I can host once school starts back up, my apartment has sweet, sweet 200Mb/s fiber Internet and no NAT-type so it shouldn’t be nearly as bad. But yeah otherwise we’ll have to pull a BTCC and do two short races instead of one long one or something, this is getting ridiculous.

For the record I don’t know why the hell people are lapping so fast this series, last year everyone was like at most a second over the target even with drafting on long tracks. Just an FYI that this isn’t normal and we’re doing something about it.

You were in 7th position when you disconnected so I’m scoring you as such (pic from right before you were kicked):

Also what do you think of subtracting 2 and 1 points from Kampf and Fearless, respectively? They were 1.4 and .7 seconds faster than either of us, which was 1 second faster than the original target time anyways. I’m really trying to think of a new, quantifiable system that works across the board and isn’t as arbitrary as, ‘you were too fast’.

yeah no worries, I just find it odd that some people lap at a different speed online because I lap at the exact same times online when I get a clean lap as I do offline in hot lap.
BMW power just gets nervous in front of others.

Dayum...that’s twice as fast as what I’ve got.
Speaking of BTCC, I don’t know if you’ve been paying attention to the weekly cars list releases for 6, but I think that BTCC/WTCC is definitely something we should consider trying out when we move over.

Stuff like this really is a case by case basis. I’m for it, but I don’t know if that 2:20 was a constant thing or how close they were to constantly running that fast. Take a look at the replay before you make a decision. If you don’t have it, I can throw it up on my storefront later.
BTW I see you looked at my Twitch broadcast, and I apologize for getting a little contact-y at some points.

Kampf was under 2:21 a couple times so that’s why I was going to take off more than 1. I dunno, just trying to keep everyone honest...
The only real thing I saw was Rob on the last turn before the front straight and that was only because you didn’t pull off to the side and wait for him. Other than that it seemed fine.

Thank you. I really need to figure out this whole internet thing. It’s plugged into an ethernet and I’m pretty sure its open nat, but I don’t know. Maybe Verizon just hates me.
